Millwork Estimating

We are a team of 6 people in our millwork estimating department with the training and experience to deliver highly detailed millwork take-offs that capture the entire scope your company would require in a project. From casework, plastic laminate countertops, running trim, to wall paneling, toilet partitions, stone tops, custom reception desks, complex bar designs, we provide solutions tailormade for your needs.

Our approach for the estimating process consist in receiving from you the link to access the arch-drawings. At this point, we will go room by room, through the files available, identifying all items you are interested in bidding on and bookmarking them in the arch. set. At the end of our work, you will receive a highlighted set of plans with bookmarks identifying the location of each millwork item. You will also receive your estimate spreadsheet filled out with the list of each item, indicating arch. references, description, finishes, hardware used and the quantities for each component.

We are confident we can bring great value to your team. Please give us a call to go over any question you may have.

Differents approach for differents companies…

Estimating by quantities

The most common method is the footage approach, calculating quantities of assemblies and components room by room, one at a time. Calculating linear footage of casework cabinetry, complex millwork pieces like reception desks, die-walls, metal and glass work.

We can do it!!

Estimating by materials

If you company uses this method to come up with your project’s selling value, then we can help. We have the experience to quantify every material being used on the project you are bidding on, and provide you with a material list, indicating not only quantities but also the location of the material within the project layout.

What make us specialist?

Alliance Millsoft is a helpful tool that allows us to provide quotes and project material costs together. This tool makes it efficient to estimate the overall project cost and establish a budget for materials once the project is awarded.

material takeoffs

We understand the importance of following the budget a project has for materials. From experience, we know it is crucial to know exactly how much material there is going be needed on the project and how much it will cost, prior to starting procurement or purchasing all materials. We can contribute to your production process, by assisting your project manager, purchasing department or shop foreman in the creation of a detailed itemized list of material, broken down by category.

The level of communication to perform this responsibility is high, as it is very important for us to make sure the core materials suggested in the millwork shop drawings are correct. The more we work together, the smoother and faster the process will be. It is true there will be a learning curve, for instance determining waste factors based on type of material, but we are confident we have the skills to become a great asset to your team.

Finish & hardware submittal schedule

In our millwork drafting division, it is very crucial to know exactly what the specs are for all the finishes and hardware to be used in the project. Because of this, we have created our Pre-engineering department, which consist of a group of professionals in the industry who navigate the architectural plans to identify all these specs or request the ones that are missing. It is this in-depth analysis that has given us the opportunity to assist some of our clients with the creation of the finish & hardware specs book/ submittals.

We understand this task, while not hard, sometimes becomes pretty time consuming. Give us the opportunity to help you with this repetitive task project after project. Should you have any question about how this service works, please do not hesitate to contact us.
